Try These RCD Fault Finding Steps:
Step 1: Unplug every appliance in the home, garage and shed. This includes the refrigerator, dishwasher, range hood, outdoor equipment, kettle, toasters and all other electrical appliances around your home.
IT IS VERY IMPORTANT that you switch OFF the power point and remove the plug.

Step 2: Turn ON the safety switch (RCD) at the switchboard.
Note: If your safety switch will not turn on after you’ve completed step 1, then you may have a fault in your wiring system or the RCD itself.

Step 3: Plug in and switch ON every appliance one at a time. The safety switch will trip off if a faulty appliance is plugged in and turned on.
Note: If no faulty appliances are detected and problem persists see step 4.

Step 4: A fault may be isolated to a particular circuit, switch OFF all circuit breakers and turn the safety switch (RCD) ON.

Step 5: Switch each circuit breaker ON, one at a time. The safety switch will turn off when the faulty circuit is turned on. Repeat this step with the faulty breaker left off.
